The Boombox

Give Miss Lucy Her 40 Minutes Back

She hauls a boombox to every class and walks 40 minutes round-trip because she can't park in the lot. We're changing that.

The Challenge

Every class, Miss Lucy walks 40 minutes round-trip from a far garage — carrying a boombox, a CD player, and her teaching bags — because she's not permitted to park in the main lot.

She always arrives early. She never complains. And then she teaches. That energy belongs in the studio — not on the sketchy walk to the parking garage. Our student coalition wants to fix it: we're pooling resources to sponsor a dedicated parking space for her right in the main lot.

Timeline: We're collecting signatures and donations now, then presenting to Ballet Austin management in the summer, in time for a reserved spot for Miss Lucy's birthday in the fall.

Donation refund: If BA refuses, your donation is returned to the email address you provide above.

Signatures: Signatures are being collected both here and in person — both count toward the final total presented to management.
